GPT and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease: Tsunoda et al. reported the incidence of NASH among 1149 patients with NAFLD, as diagnosed with ultrasound and liver enzyme levels (alanine aminotransferase [ALT] and aspartate aminotransferase [AST]).16 During a mean follow‐up of 4.2 years (4804 person‐years in total), 318 participants (27.7%) progressed from NAFLD to NASH, which equals an incidence rate of 66.19 cases per 1000 person‐years.16
