A study from Charlie et al. compared the frequency of visceral metastases between BRCA1/2 deficient ovarian cancer patients and BRCA1/2 proficient ovarian cancer patients, BRCA1/2 deficient ovarian cancer had increased incidence of visceral metastases (BRCA1/2 deficient vs. BRCA1/2 proficient, 58% vs. 5%, P < 0.001) and liver metastases (BRCA1/2 deficient vs. BRCA1/2 proficient, 42% vs. 0%, P < 0.001). This evidence concerns the gene BRCA1 and ovarian cancer.
