During the response to I/R-induced injury, the injured myocardium are associated with an inflammatory response characterized by the accumulation of leukocytes (Yan et al., 2013); these leukocytes release amounts of cytokines, such as IL-6, IL-1β, and TNF-α, to promote left ventricular dysfunction adverse reactions and heart failure (Oliveira et al., 2018; Yu et al., 2019). Here, IL6 is linked to heart failure.
