Despite this increased differentiation, the loss of CXCR5 and upregulation of granzyme B seemed less profound in CXCR5+PD‐1+ CD8 T cells in CLL after stimulation, which could indicate an altered ability of CXCR5+PD‐1+ CD8 T cells to respond to stimulation in the CLL microenvironment (Fig. 4D). The gene discussed is CXCR5; the disease is B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
