In this study, to evaluate the effect of T1492G mutation on GLUD2 function, we generated adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) that express GLUD2 or the corresponding mutant under the regulation of the glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP) promotor and injected the viruses in the SN pars compacta (SNpc) of normal and 1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (MPTP)-induced PD model mice. This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and Parkinson disease.
