The median IHC staining intensity of PAI‐1 was significantly higher in patients with metastatic disease at the time of diagnosis than those with nonmetastatic disease (P = .010; Table 5), as well as in patients with Fuhrman grade ≥ 3 tumors than in those with grade ≤ 2 (P = .026; Table 5). This evidence concerns the gene SERPINE1 and metastatic neoplasm.
