This observation is more relevant to chemoresistant ovarian carcinomas with wild-type p53, such as low-grade serous ovarian carcinomas, clear cell ovarian carcinomas, and most of the endometrioid and mucinous ovarian carcinomas, than to high-grade serous ovarian carcinomas which tend to be mutant for p53. The gene discussed is TP53; the disease is ovarian clear cell cancer.
