Salvianolic acid B, a component of Danshen (Salvia miltiorrhiza root), attenuated CIN in rats via decreasing malondialdehyde (MDA) and increasing Nrf-2-positive cells, p-Akt/Akt, Nrf-2/Histone H3, and HO-1/Actin, with antioxidative effects through PI3K/Akt/Nrf2 pathway, leading to improved renal function [26]. Here, AKT1 is linked to cervical squamous intraepithelial neoplasia.
