Since miR-377-3p/ZEB2-XIAP inhibited CRC progression by reducing Wnt/β-catenin-associated gene expression (e.i. cyclin D1, Axin2, TCF1, SOX2, c-myc, matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2), MMP-9, CD44, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF), and Twist), approaches involving increasing its expression have been proposed for novel therapeutic options (Table 1).
