In nonalcoholic fatty liver disease patients, sialic acid‐binding immunoglobulin‐like lectin‐7 (Siglec‐7) was mainly expressed on CCR2+ macrophages in the liver and serum levels of soluble Siglec‐7 (sSiglec‐7) were increased after stimulation by pro‐inflammatory factors in macrophages, which could serve as an independent and therapeutic marker with high specificity for advanced HF in this patient population.36 The gene discussed is SIGLEC7; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
