In nonalcoholic fatty liver disease patients, sialic acid‐binding immunoglobulin‐like lectin‐7 (Siglec‐7) was mainly expressed on CCR2+ macrophages in the liver and serum levels of soluble Siglec‐7 (sSiglec‐7) were increased after stimulation by pro‐inflammatory factors in macrophages, which could serve as an independent and therapeutic marker with high specificity for advanced HF in this patient population.36 This evidence concerns the gene SIGLEC7 and hydrops fetalis.
