Evidence from Adesina et al. [29] show that indices of CH-induced PH, including RVSP, RV hypertrophy and PA remodeling, are attenuated by mitochondrial catalase overexpression, which breaks down mitochondrial H2O2, but are exacerbated by SOD2 overexpression, which increases mitochondrial H2O2. This evidence concerns the gene SOD2 and cyclic hematopoiesis.
