PPAR superfamily participates in intracellular lipids metabolisms through transcriptional regulation of genes involved in lipid uptake, transport and storage in adipocytes, monocytes, and macrophages [6], PPAR-γ, perhaps best known as a therapeutic target in treatment for metabolic disorders (such as in diabetes and atherosclerotic) [22,23], primarily functions to increase the storage of intracellular fatty acids and thereby reduces the amount of fatty acids in circulation to improve hyperlipidaemia and hyperglycemia [23]. This evidence concerns the gene PPARA and metabolic disease.
