Figures 3A,B show the area of each collagen gel (NHLF and IPF, respectively) as it contracts over time, normalized to that gel’s initial area. The same data is shown again in Figures 3C,D, but with violin plots to convey the distribution. For the NHLF cells, multiple t-tests with Bonferroni correction indicated significant differences with a 95% confidence interval between groups (presence or absence of TGF-β1) at each of the selected time points – 25, 52, 100, and 175 h, as well as using the area under the curve aggregated data. The gene discussed is TGFB1; the disease is idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis.
