Results demonstrated that increases in concentrations of albumin were directly associated with recovery from anemia (aOR: 2.67, 95% CI:1.05–6.75, p = 0.04) whereas increases in total proteins were directly associated with persistent anemia (aOR: 0.44, 95% CI: 0.24–0.78, p = 0.01) (Figure 3E). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and anemia (phenotype).
