The possible pathogenesis of HIV infection-induced neuropathic pain includes tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) (Zheng et al., 2011), CCAAT/Enhancer Binding Protein β (CEBPβ) phosphorylation (Yi et al., 2018), and mitochondrial oxidative stress (Kanda et al., 2016). This evidence concerns the gene TNF and HIV infectious disease.
