Older age (≥65 years); preexisting concurrent cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease; higher temperature; higher blood leukocyte count, CD3+CD8+ T cell count, neutrophil count, and neutrophil percentage; higher levels of C-reactive protein (CRP), D-dimer, lactate dehydrogenase (LDH), creatine kinase and cardiac troponin; and higher activities of alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase, and α-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase are closely related to severe COVID-19 and the composite endpoint (Zhang et al., 2020; Zhou et al., 2020; Du et al., 2020).
