Viperin and PKR‐like endoplasmic reticulum kinase were reported to induce lipogenesis during human cytomegalovirus infection [53, 54] and Kaposi's sarcoma‐associated herpesvirus infection leads to the increase in the synthesis of long‐chain fatty acids and to increased lipid droplets formation [55]. This evidence concerns the gene RSAD2 and cytomegalovirus infection.
