High amounts of F. nucleatus in the gut of CRC patients induce the activation of autophagy in CRC cells through the TLR4/MYD88-mediated downregulation of miR-18a* and miR-4802, which in turn promotes chemoresistance of CRC cells to chemotherapeutic drugs (oxaliplatin and 5-FU)[103].
