CRP and acute kidney injury: The results showed that in comparison with patients in the non-AKI group, patients who suffered from AKI had a higher incidence of ARDS (p < 0.001) and death (p < 0.001); higher BMI (p = 0.005), IAP (p < 0.001), and APACHE II scores (p < 0.001); and higher percentages of male sex (p = 0.005) and alcohol consumption (p = 0.020), together with significantly higher serum levels of CRP (p = 0.012), PCT (p < 0.001), and TBIL (p < 0.001).
