Interestingly, we found that pharmacological inhibition of EP2 receptors decreased both COX-1 (Fig. 6g) and PGE2 (Fig. 6h) expression levels in the rd10 retina, conversely suggesting that EP2 receptor activation might induce COX-1 expression to reinforce neuroinflammation in the rd10 retina, which might be an important molecular mechanism of chronic neuroinflammation in RP.
