vGPCR has been identified as a major KSHV angiogenesis activating oncogene [18–20] that subverts host-cell proliferative and inflammatory signaling cascades leading to tumorigenicity and VEGF-mediated angiogenesis [18,21,22], and it has been shown to produce KS-like angioproliferative lesions in mice [20,23–25]. The gene discussed is VEGFA; the disease is Kaposi's sarcoma.
