GATA6 also is critical for endodermal development (Fisher et al., 2017), and some CHD patients with damaging GATA6 variants also have pancreatic agenesis, congenital diaphragmatic hernia (Yu et al., 2014) or other abdominal malformations (Chao et al., 2015; De Franco et al., 2013; Shi et al., 2017). This evidence concerns the gene GATA6 and congenital diaphragmatic hernia.
