nucleatum exacerbates CRC progression via a positive feedback loop between FadA and Annexin A1, which then activates Wnt/β-catenin signaling.22 Although F. nucleatum can disseminate through hematogenous transmission,23,24 studies have demonstrated enrichment of F. nucleatum and fadA gene in the fecal microbiome of CRC patients compared to the normal controls, suggesting translocation through the GI tract.20,25,26. Here, ANXA1 is linked to colorectal carcinoma.
