These findings are consistent with a previous study showing that geraniol administration in the (1-methyl-4-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine) MPTP-induced mouse model of Parkinson’s disease controlled the Bcl-2/Bax ratio and prevented the expression of cytochrome C and caspase-9, thereby improving the neurodegeneration state and its functional effects on movement [20].
