CCL2 and neoplasm: Examples of key players of cancer-related inflammation (CRI) include tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes, tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs), the secretion of cytokines such as TNF, IL-1, IL-6, and chemokines, such as CCL2 (C-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 2) and CXCL8 (C-X-C Motif Chemokine Ligand 8), in addition to the occurrence of tissue remodeling and angiogenesis [140].
