c-Myc has been extensively studied for its roles in the regulation of glucose, glutamine, and nucleotide metabolism [49, 50], and Gao et al. [28] recently indicated that increased c-Myc expression leads to enhanced SSP activation, an essential part of a metabolic switch, to facilitate HCC progression by transcriptionally upregulating the expression of multiple SSP enzymes. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is hepatocellular carcinoma.
