Molecular functions clustering using Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) pathway analysis revealed that UM-EVs were enriched in proteins involved in cell motility and cellular transit (actin cytoskeleton), cellular uptake (endocytosis, phagocytosis), and cancer associated signaling pathways (PI3K-Akt, Ras, Rap1, cAMP, Ras) (Figure 7B), whereas proteins related to immune escape of cancer, such as those involved in complement and coagulation cascades, were downregulated (Figure 7B). This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and cancer.
