When mpMRI was compared with mpUS, on 82 patients with PSA, freePSA, density, and velocity above normal levels, mpMRI detected 54 lesions, of which 44 proved to be PCa (at biopsy), showing a sensitivity of 91% an specificity of 66%, in contrast to mpUS, of which transrectal elastography (TRES) proved the best sensitivity (69%), specificity (44%), and contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) showed a sensitivity of only 40% but a specificity of 97%. This evidence concerns the gene KLK3 and posterior cortical atrophy.
