Beauvericin has been reported to induce the apoptosis of human non-small cell lung cancer cells and human epidermoid carcinoma cells through mitochondrial pathways, including the decrease of reactive oxygen species, loss of mitochondrial membrane potential, the release of cytochrome c and activation of caspase-9 and -3 [13,14]. This evidence concerns the gene CASP9 and non-small cell lung carcinoma.
