In the same study, PARVB was overexpressed in MCF-7 and MDA-MB-231 BC cells, which originally expressed low levels of PARVB, and its overexpression led to inhibition of ILK kinase activity, anchorage-independent cell growth, and in vitro cell invasion in MDA-MB-231 cells accompanied by inhibition of EGF-induced phosphorylation of two ILK targets, PΚΒ (Ser473) and Gsk3β (Ser9) [43]. The gene discussed is PARVB; the disease is breast cancer.
