As shown in Figure 2, infection of S. aureus significantly degraded occludin, claudin-1, ZO-1 and JAM-1, and preincubation with L. fermentum NCU3087 or L. fermentum NCU3088 significantly attenuated degradation of these tight junction proteins, but still had a significant difference with the control group. This evidence concerns the gene TJP1 and infection.
