In Ro52 positive patients with SSc, symptoms other than IP showing a higher frequency than in Ro52 negative patients were reported to be fecal incontinence, hyperalimentation, gastroesophageal symptoms, and pulmonary hypertension.(30) In the present study, edema of the extremities was most frequent in the Ro52 mono and Ro52 negative groups. This evidence concerns the gene TRIM21 and fecal incontinence.
