Interestingly, comparison of c-Fos activity in response to chemical itch and innocuous or noxious touch stimuli suggests that overall Tac2tdTom neurons in lamina IIIo are more active than IIi in response to touch stimuli (Fig. 1k), and Tac2tdTom neurons are prone to be activated by mechanical itch-related touch stimulation (Fig. 1l, m).
