Here, we show that FABP12, the newest member of the FABP family which is also located at 8q21.13 [25], is preferentially amplified and overexpressed in metastatic PCa, drives migration and invasion in PCa cells through activation of PPARγ which, in turn, induces EMT and increased reliance on fatty acids for ATP production. This evidence concerns the gene PPARG and posterior cortical atrophy.
