In CF airway diseases, the canonical NF-κB signalling pathway, consisting of the p65 and p50 subunits, and its role in inflammation in CF has been extensively investigated [9, 13, 14], however, the role of the alternative NF-κB signalling pathway, involving RelB and p52 subunits, has not. The gene discussed is RELB; the disease is cystic fibrosis.
