Interestingly, we also found that the NT-pro BNP level significantly correlated with Child-Pugh and MELD scores in cirrhotic patients with acute decompensating events, but not in those without decompensation, which would suggest that NT-pro BNP can reflect the insidious change of cardiac dysfunction in advanced cirrhosis with cardiac dysfunction.
