The 7q32 locus is known to be an autism susceptibility locus, containing both imprinted and non-imprinted genes, such as UBE2H, CPA4/5, MEST, COPG2, KLF14, MKLN1 and PODXL. The MEST/PEG1 maternally imprinted gene (mesoderm specific transcript/paternally expressed gene1) has been proposed to be a candidate gene for Silver Russel syndrome [15, 16]. This evidence concerns the gene KLF14 and Silver-Russell syndrome.
