HepaCAM has been proven to have anti-cancer properties in various tumours.28,29 Moreover, we found that the CpG island of hepaCAM was hypermethylated and that demethylation drugs can reverse its expression, but the mechanism remains to be further investigated.30,31 Therefore, in this study, we aimed to further explore the silencing mechanism of hepaCAM in tumours and to provide a new treatment programme.
