PCSK9 and diabetes mellitus: Notably, as a continuous variable, per 1-SD increase of PCSK9 level was significantly associated with 36.1 and 45.8% increased risk for MACEs in DM and non-DM groups, respectively (adjusted HR: 1.361, 95% CI: 1.037–1.785, p < 0.01; adjusted HR: 1.458, 95% CI: 1.128–1.885, p < 0.05, respectively, Table 4 and Fig. 3b).
