In the present study, we examined the role of Spred2 in BLM-induced PF and demonstrate, for the first time, that contrary to our hypothesis Spred2-deficiency abates the development of BLM-induced PF with increased proliferation of epithelial cells which may facilitates the repair of injured epithelial cells and reduce subsequent fibrosis. This evidence concerns the gene SPRED2 and pemphigus foliaceus.
