Other than typical characteristics of DCM like the enlargement of LV volume and the reduction of LV ejection function (LVEF), more specific clinical characteristics have been observed in PLN-R14del patients, including a female dominant morbidity, late-onset heart failure symptoms together with early-onset sudden death risk, a low voltage of QRS and abnormal T wave mainly on anterior-lateral precordial leads, and an involvement in right ventricular and anterolateral wall of left ventricular5,7,8. Here, PLN is linked to familial dilated cardiomyopathy.
