HDAC6 was first identified as a deacetylase of α-tubulin in a study that described its regulation of cell migration and motility [5], opening up the floodgates to a wave of subsequent studies detailing the oncogenic role that HDAC6 plays in a variety of tumor types, including breast cancer [7], ovarian cancer [8], AML [9], and glioblastoma [10].
