LYST and Chédiak-Higashi syndrome: LYST is involved in endolysosomal biogenesis, and defects in its coding region can result in enlarged lysosome-related organelles, including melanosomes, such as in the beige (34) and gray (35) phenotypes in mice, the Aleutian coloration in minks (36), and the Chédiak–Higashi syndrome in humans (37).
