In line with the results from Li et al. (2014) and Pei et al. (2017), knockdown of TOM70 led to exacerbated cardiac hypertrophy and fibrosis in this animal model as well as increased high-glucose high-fat (HGHF)-induced ROS levels and apoptosis in neonatal cardiomyocytes.
