The intratumoral nesfatin-1 was heavily expressed in colon cancer,[26] prostate cancer,[27] breast cancer,[28] and renal carcinoma.[29] The higher levels of nesfatin-1 was also associated with short overall survival[27] and lymph node metastasis.[28] These results indicated that nesfatin-1 promote cancer progression, and served as a poor prognostic marker. This evidence concerns the gene NUCB2 and prostate cancer.
