Nataliya et al. assessed the relative proportions of immune cells in healthy human livers and HCC or HCC adjacent tissues by applying CIBERSORT and found that resting mast cells, total and naïve B cells, and CD4+ memory resting and CD8+ T cells were increased in HCC, while activated mast cells, monocytes, and plasma cells were decreased when compared to healthy livers. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
