IFNG and viral infectious disease: Indeed, we observed the upregulation of some “pro-immune” genes, such as CCL5, CD28, and IFNg, and a reduced expression of some “anti-immune” genes, such as ARG-1 and FUT4. We measured the expression of more than 700 genes involved in inflammation and immunity after 6 months of treatment with imatinib, a very long time with respect to that of a viral infection.
