As expected, the expression of the inflammatory cytokines IL-6 and TNFα was higher in both the serum and tissue of the patients with IBD compared to the control group (p < 0.01) (Figures 1(a), 1(c), 1(d), and 1(f)), and the expression of the anti-inflammatory cytokine IL-10 was significantly lower in both the serum and tissue compared to the control group (p < 0.01) (Figures 1(b) and 1(e)). Here, IL10 is linked to inflammatory bowel disease.
