CD8A and tuberculosis: As the role of CD4 and CD8 T cells has been largely studied in TB, highlighting the limit of the high most polymorphic presentation of peptides antigens by MHC classes I and II molecules, the donor unrestricted nature of antigen presentation by molecules that are apparently non-polymorphic, elicits strong interest for vaccine or T cell immunotherapeutic approaches to target the entire global population without respect to host genetic factors.
