However, there are several differences between our experimental model compared to the aforementioned clinical study: (1) we started albumin infusion earlier (3 vs. 5 h after ischemic stroke); (2) the total amount of albumin was lower (0.42 g/kg for 5% ALB and 1.42 g/kg for 20% ALB vs. 2 g/kg); and (3) the total volume of albumin administered was lower (6.2 mL/kg for 5% ALB and 5.9 mL/kg for 20% ALB vs. 10 mL/kg). Here, ALB is linked to ischemic stroke.
